OMAHA, Neb., April 15, 2021 — With never-before-seen digital performances, interviews, and behind-the-scenes insights, the Omaha Symphony announces the new streaming platform, SymphonyAnywhere.com, an expansion of the 2020 Symphony Anywhere digital initiative launched last April. The platform will serve as the digital home for Omaha Symphony virtual content and include a combination of existing resources and brand-new Omaha Symphony performances.

The platform is free to access but contains premium Omaha Symphony concert content, interviews, educational programs, and more priced individually. Omaha Symphony season subscribers and donors at the $150 level or higher receive complimentary access to all paid content free of charge. Free content will include pre-concert talks, Virtual Classroom Learning Library lessons, virtual family and education concerts, archived recordings and more with additional content to be added. Additionally, tickets to live streamed performances of Pink Martini and Wilkins Finale: Branford, Daugherty, Elgar will go on sale at a later date and will be made available to patrons via SymphonyAnywhere.com.

The extended Symphony Anywhere platform will launch with brand new Omaha Symphony virtual performances of Mendelssohn’s “Hebrides” Overture under the baton of Music Director Designate Ankush Kumar Bahl, a special commission from 13-year-old Omaha composer Winston Schneider titled “The Summer of Covid-19 from the Perspective of a 17-Year-Old Girl”, Caroline Shaw’s “Boris Kerner,” Camille Saint-Saëns’ “The Swan” and lots more. Additionally, the platform will contain recordings of Omaha Symphony education and family concerts. Available now is the Mission Imagination program geared toward students pre k-third grade, “A Home for Treble,” and the Omaha Symphony’s performance of Clint Needham’s “The Body Electric” from the Celebrate Creativity program.

“While we have been incredibly fortunate to have continued to perform safe, in-person concerts for our audiences, with the launch of SymphonyAnywhere.com, the Omaha Symphony will be able to expand our reach to the members of our community who may be unable to attend in-person performances or who simply want expanded access to their orchestra from wherever they are," said Omaha Symphony President & CEO Jennifer Boomgaarden.
