One of the most epic voices in Omaha goes off the air this weekTuesday, January 18
The Omaha Symphony's 55th Annual Debutante Ball was a smashing success, raising a record-breaking $540,000 for the orchestra's education and community engagement programs.
The Omaha Symphony’s 55th Annual Debutante Ball held on December 27, 2021 at the Embassy Suites in LaVista. This extraordinary “double” Ball was the largest in history with over 1,000 guests participating (900 in-person and 200 via livestream).
A record-breaking $540,000 was raised over the past two years leading up to this milestone event. Net proceeds support the Omaha Symphony’s educational and community outreach programs, serving more than 60,000 students across the metro area and beyond.
157 Debutantes and Stags from the classes of 2020 and 2021 were presented along with their families. These outstanding youth were recognized based on their families’ volunteerism throughout Omaha and the metro communities and/or their involvement with the Omaha Symphony.
Guests enjoyed watching the honorees participate in a formal presentation on stage, Grand March, and choreographed dance throughout the ballroom. Traditional Father-Daughter and Mother-Son dances were followed by an Omaha Steaks dinner and dancing to Pam and the Pearls. Aaron Carlson Design added to the elegance of the evening with custom centerpieces and stage floral arrangements made of traditional red roses, vibrant anthurium and evergreen accents.
The Omaha Symphony thanks the Debutante Ball Committee, our families and donors for their gracious support of the orchestra, its programs, and the communities we serve. Your gift makes it possible for the Symphony to inspire and educate thousands of students by discovering their love for music.
Special thanks to the 2021 Chair, Terri Eischeid and 2020 Chair, Kate Grabill for their leadership during these unprecedented times.
